Project Completion-Zhejiang University Main Library

The main library of Zhejiang University is located in the west of Zijingang Campus, north of Qiushi Lecture Hall, and will be opened on November 18, 2023. With the overall design concept of "inclusiveness, harmony and diversity", the main hall combines the beauty and form of traditional Chinese architecture with the spiritual core of modern architecture, with a building area of 37,000 square meters. The main hall has more than 100 study Spaces of various types and more than 1,000 intelligent reading seats to meet the needs of readers. The sixth floor Guan Tong building style is tall, grand, classical and quiet, with unfolded pages as the top, double-duplex corridor book wall collection of tens of thousands of Chinese and Western classics, called "the temple of Chinese and Western ideological and cultural integration".

The main library's collection resources include first-line collections of humanities and social sciences, research literature resources of related science and engineering departments, with a total collection of more than 2.6 million volumes, subscribing to more than 1,400 kinds of newspapers and periodicals, and providing data retrieval, scientific and technological update, interlibrary loan, document delivery and other services for readers inside and outside the university.
